LinuxIT Takes the Pain Out of Shell Shock for its Customers

As soon as the seriousness of the issue became apparent LinuxIT created a ticket to co-ordinate our response. Our technical team began to assess our customer base and work out who was most at risk. Our Service Delivery Manager contacted all our customers and advised them of the issue and that we were looking into what needed to be done.
For our Managed Platform customers we prioritised our responses based on our assessment of the risk level for each. We then began the process of pro-actively planning and applying the necessary patches, working within change management systems where appropriate.
For our Monitored and Support customers we provided advice and emphasised the need to take prompt action. Although these customers SLAs do not include the same level of pro-active management and patching as our Managed Platform customers, we assessed each request we had based on their individual contracts and did our best to assist where we could.
We applied the initial, partial patch where possible as soon as we could and then returned back to apply the second patch once it became available.
