Peter has a successful history of building pan-European technology companies, either as domestic start-ups or as subsidiaries of US organisations. Peter’s role included leading these businesses through acquisition and IPO, and his successes have included leading roles in Cyrano, NuMega Technologies and Compuware.
Peter comes from an IT business consultancy background and moved through sales and sales management before his first Managing Director role in 1996 when he also became a professional Member of the Institute of Directors. Peter has worked with Open Source companies since 2000, and is probably one of the few individuals that was able to develop a significant and profitable business through its use in the UK.
Peter has also made a huge contribution both personal and through LinuxIT to the United Nations Development Programme. He has been unstinting in his support and financial contribution and has worked tirelessly, with no personal benefit, to ensure that the United Nations and some of the most disadvantaged people in the world benefit from high quality training by developing LPI training manuals that were donated to the UN.
Peter is a regular speaker and industrial spokesman who works with the media and press to deliver an authorative, independent and commercial view of the market and technologies. In 2006, he has been appointed a member of the Society of Industry Leaders, a group of industry experts that provides information to Standard & Poor, supporting the buy-side research needs of institutional money managers with independent, unbiased research. read more
